R56 Non-Turbo to Turbo Conversion
Non-Turbo to Turbo Conversion
I have a 2009 Non-Turbo Hatchback and wanted to convert it to a Turbo Hatchback. I found a 2008 Cooper S at a junk yard and pulled off the Turbo and Header, Intercooler and intake manifold, a small coolant pump and an adapter plate where the oil and coolant go into the engine block. I figured I still need injectors, and possibly the fuel pump and probably a bunch of little things. I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone has done this before and what I will need to get it running right.
you will need more than that...almost a whole car...the engine block is NOT the same, so would need that along with pistons and shafts. The wiring is different, so you need that. you need the ECU/DME, fuse box on the passenger side, engine wiring harness and wiring modification to the cabin wiring. since the ECU will be replaced, you will need the matching CAS and Key fob.
Possible but not practical. The difference between the standard and s are huge.If you were to install a s turbo engine and decide to wire up an aftermarket efi system the the gauges and other parts of the car won’t work. The engines and fuel systems are totally different.
