r52 aero kit front wheel arch question

For anyone who has this kit, can you tell me, did you reuse the forward most wheel arch plastics (to the front of each wheel)? The kit doesnt seem to come with them, and it doesnt look to me like they are the same as a S.

I see a lot of aero folks paint their wheel arches body color..

Are we supposed to paint that area black to look like wheel arches? Anyone have close up pics? Im referring to part 12 on the second diagram.

The first diagram doesnt show coming with any parts to finish up the wheel arches, and the aero kit itself looks like it has the front arch sort of built in..

This says it fits my 2007, but it looks a lot like a gen 2 front bumper.

The second pic is for a 2nd gen 2007 hardtop. The trim on the 1st gen aero bumper, side skirt, and rear bumper are molded as one piece and is painted with black textured paint. The factory textured paint is no longer available, but there are aftermarket textured paints you can use.

That is correct and one reason some folks just go body color with it all when going to this kit.. That is what I did and mainly I had seen alot of the painted textured attempts and some don't look too good so for virtually the same money I went body color with it all...

yes, on the front and rear bumper the wheel arch trims is connected and MINI painted these with special paint at the dealer, its was a textured paint. Others just painted it body color or the painted the arches and the bumper trim arches in a black gloss.

aww crap. ok. I guess I'll be doing painted arches then. That a little snafu I didnt realize!

What did they charge you guys to do those pieces? I'd assume prep is a pita on those flexible parts.

Orrrr, I could do satin colored 3m 1080 black vinyl with knifeless trimming on the front/rear.. Has anyone done that?
