DCT Auto

Anyone see or read anything regarding rumors that Mini will be getting a DCT auto in the future?

Yes, I've seen the reports and articles but dealership knows nothing about upgrades beyond some fascia changes.

2017 production is halted so one would think if a DCT was going into the 2018 models, we would hear something more than a few spotty articles.

How great would it be go get some extra HP and Torque w/ a DCT in a 2018 Cooper S.

I will tell you the 8 speed with paddles on my Clubman S All4, with the sport tuning box, gives great joy. When I want to slam through the gears, it is quick to shift. When I'm just crusin' easy, it's smooth-shifting and a very 'smart' shift algorithm. Overall, very satisfied and, frankly, surprised with the sophistication of the drive train, from turbo to tranny to power distribution among the 4 wheels. And great brakes.

Overall, continually overjoyed at what is packed into this car. Trying to imagine how a DCT would improve things. ... but I'd sure like to find out
