Help with Burger Motorsports JB+ Check Engine Light on JB+ N18 OBD Error P0100 MAS

Hello everyone,

Let me start off by saying I am a total car newbie...I have a 2012 R58S as my sole car, with a JB+ chip and K&N 2023-69TS CAI installed: When I received the JB+, I opened it up and set it to 100, but a check engine light came on after driving on the interstate for some time. I opened back up the JB, and set the dial down to 50%, but it does not clear the code. The car was brought to O'Reilly for an OBD scan, and it returned the "permanent" (?) code P0100 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit. Pics:

The dude at OR reset the codes, but the CEL came back on this morning.

I only fill up my R58 with 93 octane premium gas.

Any help?

Take the JB off and drive for some time until hopefully the light goes away. That could be a few miles or a hundred? I had a code that took several days and drive cycles to get rid of.

Then give it a try again if you want. Could be several things happening but taking it off would let you narrow it down to the car sensors/electronics vs. the JB.

If you installed the K&N it may have had too much oil and some may have gotten onto the MAF and caused the issue.

BTW, Ive had 4 Mini's 3 with the JB+ at up to 70% and never had an issue.

The P0100 Code, which apparently means the mass air sensor has a malfunction, has returned. It went off after awhile, shortly after I posted this thread, but now it is back and every time I reset it, it comes back on after shutting the car off and turning it on again. Going to replace the MAF and see how that works? Any advice is appreciated.

Where did you get the JB+ ? There have been many issues reported with the ones purchased on fleaBay. If you purchased it from Burger Tuning, give them a call and see if they might send you a replacement. Also, you need to follow their installation instructions exactly to prevent issues.

Thanks for responding...Alas, I did get it off of Ebay, though I contacted Burger and they confirmed the serial number of the unit was genuine. I did email then again to find out how I could exchange for a replacement, waiting for a response back.
