What are the major things I need to look at or listen for..? 83k for miles. 6 speed. Silver with black top.

At those miles the usual suspect items would be: crank sensor o-ring, water pump, t-stat, t-stat cover, belt, belt tensioner, struts, front end suspension bushings, and all the fluids. You should also verify that the low speed fan runs when the AC is switched on.

For the top, you should open and check to see if the glides on the targa/moon roof are dry (bad) or if they have some grease (good) on them. Chances are that the rubber trim at the back of the top where it meets the trunk is cracked. There are threads in the DIY on a simple fix for the trim.

 

Checked it out tonight. 2nd owner. Paperwork for oil changes, cam gear change ($2200)???, $4700 left front collision repair for a deer strike.... Has an LSD. Few Nicks and dents and scuffs. Clear coat coming off rims. Car is very tight up front. Pulls nicely up through gears. New tires because old ones where scalloped.....what would cause that? In my mind the deer strike front end damage bent something.... Original timing chain and power steeeing.
Decisions. They wanted $7500. Offered 5500.
