P0014, High Revving, Low Highway Speed

Hi all,

I'm having issues with my 2007 non-S. The engine revs like crazy up to 4-5K before shifting, but feels like it has no power. The VANOS solenoids work as I tested them with a 12V power source outside the car and there's no clog, but replaced them anyways. I already replaced the camshaft sensors to no avail.

Do any of you have any ideas? A long time ago I used an engine stop leak. Do you think the camshaft variable timing cam is clogged, causing this P0014?

the shifting is dependent on two things: engine speed and transmission. it seems that the issue is more towards the transmission or the ECU is trying to delay shifting so you get more power out of the engine.

since you replaced the solenoids, open up the valve cover and visually check the timing. then go from there.
