M7.....Oil Catch Can
M7.....Oil Catch Can
As has been noted by many owners on this and other boards the Mini S is prone to excessive oil vapor within the intake system. If any of you have taken off your intercooler for any reason and depending on how many miles you have driven the car you most likely noted a build up of oil within each rubber boot sealing the intercooler at each end. Additionally if you used any type of cleaner to clean out the inside of the intercooler itself you will note a lot of oil which has built up as well. This oil coating is not in itself harmfull to the general operation of the engine but it does affect the performance by slowly limiting the effectivness of the intercooler to cool the passing air as well as gumming up various sensors etc.
The oil catch can is CNC'd from aluminum and polished to add a nice accent to your engine compartment. All hoses , brackets and necessary fittings are included including a oil drain plug at the bottom of he can with a magnet to ****** out any possible metal fragments . There is also a sight tube to let you know the amount of oil in the can at any one time. The hoses come in black and are designed to handle oil specificaly unlike silicone which will eventually bleed thru and change the color of the hose.
