I'd like little more sound from the exhaust. Will removing the resonator make much difference? Just wanting a deeper mellow tone. Considering going with a complete exhaust change, cat back, but not sure which one. It's always best to hear what you're putting on but in my local very few Minis running around stock much less any modified

 

I ran resonator only on my R50 for about 3 weeks. It actually sounded pretty decent.

 

Removing res will help add a little more tone. In my last R56S I switched to the JCW muffler which I loved, it was most definitely louder but not at all drony on the highway. Here's a shameless plug for my video comparing the S and JCW exhaust when I switched.

 

Yes cutting out the res is a great and cheap way to give you just a little more noise. We've had several customers do it

 

I did the 2nd cat and resenator delete and the sound is so great.
