Clubman 2009, no crank - (not the clutch switch)
hi all,
just today, for the first time our clubman s will not crank. We push started it and it runs fine, (car is heavy!) but the starter doesn't engage at all when the switch is pushed. I can clearly hear that the solenoid isn't getting juice. I'm trying to avoid bringing it 70 miles away to the place where the last warranty work was done because I'm sure it's an easy fix, if it isn't the ECM.
i changed the key fob battery, no change (we only have one)
checked the fuses and relays, all are intact, relays were switched, no change.
clutch switch is intact even though I wiggled it.
the engine was rebuilt by mini because of the classic plastic tensioner issue that grenades the engine. I'm hoping they botched some wires to the starter otherwise I'm paying for some ecm programming.
i know I'm missing something simple.
Anyone have any new ideas or experiences that can help?
