Tires/whell combination on stock suspention
Hey guys just wanted to do a quick check on this tire and wheel combo from tire rack that I'm about to pull the trigger on. I'm a little worried about the offset of the rims. the sizes are:
18" rims with a 40mm offset
215/45/18 tires
Will I have any issue with the 40mm offset? or will I need spacers?

What year and model MINI?
What wheel width?
Your tirerack salesperson can confirm fitment (ask for Reggie)
Assuming R56 or later model, 18x7" wheel et40 and 215/45-18 tires-
Compared to OEM 17x7" et48 wheels, you will be 8mm further from inner suspension and poke out 8mm more which is fine.
215/45-18 fits wheels 7-8" wide but tire diameter is very tall at 25.6" compared to OEM 24.3" which is not going to work well.
205/45-18 or 215/40-18 are better choices.
What tire were you going to use and for what type of driving?
If for only street driving and for three season (including cold temperatures) use (not deep snow), then Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Ultra High Performance All Season non runflat tire gives good ride comfort (for 215/40-18) for daily driving.
Spacers are used to move a wheel further outward or away from the inner suspension or for appearance reasons. You do not need spacers for the wheels to fit, it would be only cosmetic.
You do need to order the wheels with center rings that will fit the wheels and the MINI wheel hub, ask for them.
