Help.. Charged battery and car wont start now

charged a dead battery and something happened Car wont start. Its a manual and it just acts like I'm not pushing in clutch. Dealer said it was a bad ign cassette and it wasn't switching to position 2. But we just put in a new one and still no luck. Steering wheel lock is on. Any ideas people before I tow back to dealer.

will it start with a KNOWN good battery (not the revived one) or a jump?

MINI are very sensitive to battery condition ... a battery that "checks good" at AutoZone may not satisfy the MINI's computer

remember that when you 'start' a MINI you don't just close a circuit and send juice to the starter ..... you send a 'request' to the computer and IF the computer is happy it will crank the starter .....

if it starts with a jump you have found the problem ....

I don't know for sure but i think new battery should be "programmed" at Mini dealer. Just call them and ask how much it will cost to reprogram new battery. Try to get as much info you can from them. ) good luck!
