New software changed rev-counter display after airbag controller replaced!?

OK this is weird. I had to have a new airbag control unit dealer-fitted. This changed the display in the tacho. Previous I could see distance, exterior temperature and the trip meter (and was right-justified) - now distance and only one other thing so I have to select whether to see the trip meter or the temperature (and it's left-justified).

Does anyone know if this can be changed back the way it was?

I was surprised to find it also changed the settings stored in the key eg number of flashes when you touch the indicator stalk and door locking options.

Unfortunately I think there's no way to revert to the previous display settings :(

I agree, I liked the older style where ODO and trip meter were always on the bottom and then you could switch between mpg, temp, etc on the top.

You can get it back!

I recently had a software update and lost that too, but I never originally had it when I purchased the car!

All you have to do is find someone who can do coding with NCSExpert. The module is KOMBI, the line of code is: WIPER_STAT_DISP. You will probably see the value of wert_02. It needs to be changed to wert_01

That setting makes the trip odometer ALWAYS displayed to the right of the odometer. If tracking your trip miles is important to you make sure you write it down because any writes to KOMBI zeros out the trip miles!
