R50/53 MC 0 - 60 in ??
OK, so the advertising says the MC can go 0 - 60 in 8.5 secs. I'm still in the break-in period, but it sure seems like I'll be able to beat that. Anyone tried?

Of course with every advertisement of power, comes a counter claim to that number, both good and bad. Magazines for example. Actually the dealer brouchere that I have states a 9.2sec time. Around the 9sec time, give or take a tenth or so, seems to be a popular estimate with magazine editorials and tests.
You'll find that a lot of members around here aren't really too interested in 0-60, or 1/4 mile times though. Just into plain driving fun, and auto-X.
And for the ones whom are interested in the go-fast approach, could dabble into mods to beat that time and more.
No personal attack or such against you in saying this, but I hope you're enjoying your MINI for more than just the time it takes to achieve an 'X' amount of speed off the line.
I personally enjoy all aspects of the car(as I'm sure you do), including the odd off-the-line race. But I really love the handling and plan to exercise it's rally style abilities by persuing some Auto-Xing at some point. The traffic weaving and corning are the best features of these little beasts. I have a decal made up for the rear window that says "The little engine that CAN". I want to also add one that says "I speed up for corners"
Anywho, sounds like your ready to enjoy your MINI in due time(post break-in period).
Cheers,
