Drivetrain Inlet Options for Upgraded Turbos
Inlet Options for Upgraded Turbos
Those of you with upgraded turbos feel free to chime in.
I'm in the process of upgrading my turbo to a JMTurbo Super 42, and I noticed the connection on the turbo inlet on my factory turbo is a lot smaller than the S42's inlet by a lot. I spoke with Arric from JMTurbo Coopers and he mentioned that the inlet has an outer diameter of 2"

I have a K&N Typhoon CAI and its a direct fit onto the factory turbo inlet. The materiel is some kind of hard rubber that is prone to cracking when flexed too much, unlike silicone.
Are there any manufacturer's out there that carry a silicone turbo inlet pipe that would fit? I called Forge but their silicone intake tubes are a direct fit to factory turbos and will not fit an upgraded turbo inlet.

For silicon hose fittings, look at ---

There's probably others, but these should get you started --- if Arric can't do anything for you.
Thanks for replying to my post. They are unfortunately on back order. I couldn't wait for the part so I'll be installing it before it arrives. Looks like I'll have to do a similar setup. Hows that Garret? Is it the GT28?
A big Garrett has pros and cons. For me, the pros won, and I replaced my worn-out GT28RS with the GTX2860R. Then I proceeded to blow the engine. A long build journal is located here (no pics) --- https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...lta-stuff.html Disaster is described here --- https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...e-deadest.html Rebuild is in-process and posted here --- https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...s-phoenix.html
How did your build go? I'll be installing an S42 along with my K&N Typhoon in about two weeks. Arric sent the silicone inlet hose, but the inside diameter doesn't seem just right compared to the Typhoon outside diameter.....is there a trick?
