F55/F56 Crankshaft Bearing Recall & Automatic Transmission MCS
Crankshaft Bearing Recall & Automatic Transmission MCS
From reading various posts on the topic it sounds like the crankshaft bearing recall is being expanded to cars other than manual transmission MCS.
Has anyone with an automatic transmission MCS been called to bring in their car for this recall, or does anyone with knowledge of the BMW machine know if autos are to be included in the near future?
We only have a few thousand km on our automatic 2015 MCS and if we are eligible to get our crankshaft bearings replaced I want to get the car to the dealer ASAP. The last thing I want is an engine replaced, even if it is under warranty.

I saw there were no posts on this topic, so figured I'd chime in.
I own a 2014 S automatic and had the same question. I brought the car into the dealer and they reassured me that the issue only affected the early build manual transmission models without the modified part.
So I would encourage you not to lose too much sleep over it. I know it sounds scary when they tell you your engine might blow up, but I think the number of cars affected in the grand scheme of things is relatively low.
Enjoy your MINI!
