Maintenance schedule

Hi. This MINI is my first new car I ever bought. My current mileage is about 38K. Other than a regular oil change, should I schedule it for a dealer recommended 42K service?

That depends...

If the car was properly serviced (because you have seen the history and service of the vehicle) then...

a) If it is STILL under warranty, and you have a working knowledge of the dealership to be true and honest, then yes.

b) If it is out of warranty, and you have a trusted mechanic then no.

c) If you have no prior history on the vehicle, or concrete fact that it was taken care of, then yes.

d) If you are a maniac and true enthusiast like most here on the forums, and you don't mind spending a little money and be on the safe side, then yes.

Cheers

Call the dealer and see if the person extended the service warranty. That way you can get it covered, they can also tell you what the service history from the MINI side looks like. I think cabin filter, oil change, wipers, and brake fluid gets changed at that point if i remember right.
