replacing the OEM catalyst
The CEL lit and the diagnosis was that the Catalyst needed replacement. Buying a brand new OEM cat for my '08 R56S seems like a waste of money though.
Really now, what are my options here?

Will i need to be cautious for a CEL in any of the options i find in ebay? Im kinda in the dark in making a selection on my own without knowing stuff like that.

I was suggesting you could get an OEM take-off from eBay. If you go that way, you don't have to worry about anything.

There are OEM take offs on the Forum Marketplace and Facebook pages too. I know that I sold my for under $200 when I installed a high-flow cat.

Go to a muffler place and have them cut and weld a new cat.
