I was putting together a 2005 Cooper on the USA website and I noticed that there is an option for carbon fiber dashboard and door trim for about $150.

Does anyone know if this is the same type of dashboard in the MCS 40?

 

Er doh. I just read that it's an "insert" kit. Anyone know what that means?

 

Means its a peice of Carbon that is glued ontop of your current dash. The MC40's Dash is true replacement CF part.

 

It is a really thick stick on product. Looks pretty good but doesn't cover everything, then again it's $150 not $1600.

 

I would like to get that down the road. Also, if someone made CF trims

for the tach, shifter trim, etc. that would be so cool....

 

I have the kit and I think it looks good. Everyone who gets in the car notices it.

I'd love to have the full CF dash, but not for 1600 bucks in a $25K car.
