Noob question

So I've put down a least a 1000kms on my lovely used countryman S and now a new aftermarket exhaust. I have not heard or felt any crackle or pop from the exhaust yet? I do not have the infamous sport mode button. Could anyone inlight me on the situation? could it be the stock cats, stock resonator??? I want the crackle and pop lol

Strange how you don't get any pops with an aftermarket exhaust. I have a '13 S and have a sport mode. All I did was remove my muffler and every time I put it in sport mode it cracks/pops on every downshift. Not sure why yours wouldn't other than not having a sport mode.

only the sport mode will do pops intentionally, otherwise most pops are from unburnt fuel going into a HOT exhaust. I find it very strange you don't have sport mode. removing cats/ resonator will make them much louder, but they still would be present with sport mode, with sport mode off, the engine ecu wont drop extra fuel into the exhaust

pops and burbles are tied into the Sport mode. You may get a very occasional one, but not anywhere near as often as with Sport mode.
