Halogen H7 to LED conversion

Has anyone with the standard H7 halogen low beam headlights converted to LED's?

There seems to be a lot of talk of HID to LED but nothing on halogen to LED.

Would like some input or experiences if there are any..

NOOOOOO!!!!!! The halogen housings with Led bulbs make a horrible beam pattern. The initial output is very bright but there is a ton of glare above where it should cut off for low beam as well as the distance the light reaches is drastically reduced. They look great when looking at the car but as far as actual driving behind the wheel you will have less visibility.

If you are looking for brighter lights try Philips Xtreme Vision, Osram Night breakers, or PIAA Xtreme white plus

Halogen, HID, and LED bulbs all put out light a little differently and as such require specifically designed housings.

The projector housings you find on say amazon and eBay are actually Halogen projectors, now if you take your time and properly shim an HID bulb to place the hotspot in the correct location in the beam pattern you can get decent results from HID in halogen projectors if you must have HID, but for the best light output you want to stick with the bulb the housing was designed for. The absolute worst thing you can do is put HID or LED bulbs in reflector housings designed for halogen, your beam pattern will be terrible. Now this does get confusing because there are reflector housings designed for HID, like the early xenon mini lights. These you do not want to put halogen bulbs in. Same terrible result.

Agreed - 100%.

Look for this - about $40 or less per pair.

Philips H7XTV Xtreme Vision

Thanks! You guys just saved me about $60 and a strange conversation with the wife about why I spend $100 on light bulbs.

Most LEDs dont have the right pattern or focus for non-projector housings. Better off with Piaa H7 for now.
