Immobilizer

I have my 2004 R53 on 4 jack-stands to do some cleaning underneath. Tried to start the car. It cranks, but won't start. It started fine before placing on stands. Could this be caused by the immobilizer doing its protection? I am not ready to lower the car yet, but will have to if necessary.

If the problem was the immobilizer, it wouldn't even crank (starter motor would be disabled).

Correct, this sounds like a battery or ignition problem.

rkw and BlwnAway,

I appreciate your inputs. The car was starting fine before placing in stands. I'll keep on fiddling.
