There are those that have and those that will. I washed my key yesterday (I could say inadvertently but who really washes their key deliberately?) Covered it with white rice overnight and works like a champ. I did stir it around several times, but I'm not sure that it makes any difference. $1.00 worth of white rice beats big bucks for a new key.

 

Sounds like you might have been lucky. Come back in a month or so and let us know if corrosion did it's deed.
