Window Woes

Hey All,

So I've been having some window issues recently. My drivers window will move ever so slightly and then bind and stop. Some casual searching led me to the motor refurbishing thread on one of the other forums. Long story short: pulled the glass, rails, motor from the car and cleaned the motor (it was pretty dirty). Threw it back in the car and nothing changed. So, since I've exhausted that option, I figured I'd throw a video up on here to see if anyone could help me pinpoint what to replace instead of just wildly replacing parts.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TUJnPo6EXus" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The first part is me holding down the toggle to roll the window down. Youll notice it moves for a second and then stops (I'm still holding the toggle down during the stopped time). The second movement is when I hold the toggle up. It moves, does a weird backlash thing, and then stops.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Looks like you need a new regulator.

My window did this. The cable had frayed and would jam about 1/3 of the way down. Then one day the cable broke and the window went all the way down. And would not go up. Bring it was winter and I needed to use the car. I took the door panel off and cut 2 sticks to hold the windo up and nylon tied them to the windo guide rails until the new regulator showed up and I had the time to replace it.
