I purchased this not realizing that the previous owner's JCW still used the N14 engine whereas my car has the N18. Lesson learned - research before you buy!


This has a complete harness which installs in series with the factory harness in two locations: the intake manifold and the intake charge tube. You separate the factory connectors and the factory male goes into the harness female, the harness male goes into the factory female. The harness then leads to the module which has its own dedicated connector.


I verified with Race Chip that the N14 module does in fact have a dedicated tune and will not work on the N18 even if I purchased the N18 harness (the N14 & N18 have different style plugs).


Comes with harness, piggy back style tune module, and installation manual. I do not have the "dummy" plug that bypasses the module to allow you to run your stock tune without removing the system, but it literally can be installed/removed in just a couple of minutes.
