Puddle lights upgrade

I picked up a set of puddle lights for the 2014 R57 Convertible S:

http://amzn.to/2gGJZAR

Took no time at all to install them. Just popped the old one loose, unplugged the wire from it, snipped a tiny bit of door card tabs (as explained in the instructions that came with the lights) and then re-connected and installed the new light. It really only took a few minutes for each side. Hardest part was being careful to firmly unplug the cable from the old light. It was really stuck in there firmly. The tab trimming was just a quick swipe with a utility knife. I didn't have the shave the tab down flush, just about half of each side removed. Otherwise the new light assembly wouldn't quite fit. But the old one doesn't really "need it" to stay in place.

I chose to align them with the door angle. To change the angle you have to pop the light back out (easily done with no tools) and turn the little insert on the back of the assembly. Wife loves the look.

Attached is a picture of the result:

I have the "Hang On, I want to try something" puddle lights.

MINI COOPER LED Door Projection Courtesy Puddle Lights

Installed them about a year ago, but they already have lost most of the color.

For those considering I recommend sticking with the monochrome lights.

My Mom recently installed the puddle lights from the dealer in my MINI and I LOVE them! I had a Clubman loaner that had them and I was obsessed. She had them installed in just a few minutes and I feel like I got a new car!

I have them as well. Had the mini logo first then the "S",which seems to stand out more clearly.
