245/40r19 Tires
245/40r19 Tires
Hi all. I recently purchased a 2013 Mini Countryman S All4 and am looking to upgrade the wheels. I have stock suspension. I am currently considering two options:
1. 245/40r19 tire on 19x8.5 +45 offset rim
2. 225/40r19 tire on 19x8.5 +45 offset rim
I'd prefer to go with option 1, but I have a suspicion that it will not fit with stock suspension. Has anyone here tried that combo? Did it fit?
If not, then can anyone confirm that option 2 will fit on stock suspension?
I've searched the forum a bit, but couldn't find definitive answers. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you have the OEM regular suspension, both sizes should fit with no problem.
I have the OEM sport suspension, which is lower than the OEM regular suspension. I used to run NM Eng RSe14 wheels (19x8.0 +45mm) with 245/40/19 Sumitomo HTRZIII tires, and the rear rubbed very slightly on large freeway dips.
I'm selling the RSe14 wheels, BTW. =)

Thanks for the feedback!
I ended up going with 19x8 et42 rims with 225/40r19 tires. I do have the sport-tuned suspension, and I am often carrying multiple people, so I went with the narrower tire and rim just to be safe.
