Integrating the iPhone 7 into my R53...

Since getting my R53, I have been totally content with the aux plug & lightning to charge. Well, will my iP7 & its lack of audio jack, I figured it may be time to upgrade the Mini.

So, I picked up a ProClip mount (VERY nice) to mount where my factory cup holder usd to be. It has a port for the Apple lightning cable to clip into, so I figured I'd try an all-in-one Bluetooth adapter. I picked up a unit from Anker & wow....just.....terrible sound quality. Very flat sounding & no information below about 120Hz. Just awful. So then, this clearly won't work..

What was appealing about the Bluetooth solution was that it also supported hands-free calling, which was missing from my pre - iPhone 7 setup anyway. Does anyone know of a wired equivalent?? It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to have something that plugs into the lightning port, then breaks out into USB for charging, 3.5mm for audio out & a mountable microphone for hands free calling. Please tell me this exists!!

Ildock is a device that plugs into the iPhone lighting port with which lets u charge the phone and gives u an aux port. I seen a kick start for it I'm not sure if its out yet or not. Worth checking out.

Cool, I was just looking at this one actually. The Anker unit I'd been using similar to this proved to be totally useless today when trying to accept a call. Oh well.
