Canoe Tiedowns?

A bit late in the season here in the northeast to be asking this, but I just picked up my All4 R60S. Had it a week. (2016 with 7000mi on the clock. The oreo-colored one. Hey, this is my first post!) I got the dealer to throw in the OEM roof rack.

I go canoeing probably 4-5 times a year. Plan to put the canoe up on the rack and go from there. On my old vehicle, I used the same setup, but would always loosely tie the front and back ends down, usually to some spot on the frame or a tow hook or something.

Quick glance at the undercarriage and I'm not finding much there. Anyone here do the same thing, and if so, where do you tie off?

Otherwise, loving it so far, and am slowly tiptoeing into the customizing, but don't want to void any warranties quite yet...

Check out the bike rack accessories that attaches to the rear bumper.
You probably can use those connections on the rear bumper. For the front you could try the tow hook (stored under your driver side seat).

I just grabbed a lightly used R60s after 9 yrs in a R56s. I haven't figured this out yet either. I was considering getting at least one more tow hook to do a V tie in the back to prevent the canoe from sliding forward in a hard stop. But it would be nice to have a V tie in the front to prevent the canoe from sliding to the side in the wind. Too bad there is only one hook in the front.

I was crawling under the rear of the car last night putting on mudflaps, and I noticed some spots that might work for a light tieoff. But nothing really obvious or convenient. Will have to do more reconnaissance.
