Why is the 2016 F54 Clubman tire jack (71126866211) specific only to that vehicle, whereas one for a 2015 F55 (71121501930) fits @10 mini models back to 2000? Did they change the way to lift the clubman, or would any mini jack work?

 

Was told that its due to the size of the clubman. Sure enough...F55 4 dr (@3700 lb), R60 Countryman (@3900 lb), F54 Clubman (@4200 lb)...3 different tire jack models.

 

The older jacks don't extend high enough for some of the newer MINIs. The jack from my R55 Clubman can't lift the tires of my spouse's Countryman off the pavement.

 

I'm going to check if my dads 2016 clubman F54S has the same lifting points as my 2015 4 dr F55, and then test my jack. I found that my jack is rated for @1700 lbs, so as long as the height works, it should be fine. Found many jacks available with same sku as mine.
