I am taking my block out to have it surfaced. As I was taking out the drivers side axel, I noticed this black box with an electrical plug installed, but no wires attached. I was able to locate nearby a bundle of three wires that were unaccounted for. I traced them back and they connect to another bundle that connect to a sensor in the metal brake line. So I assume it has something to do with the brakes. It has been disconnected for quite some time and hasn't caused any problems. I know you guys know what it is...
yep, definitely leveling sensor. After breaking one of my old non-projector xenon's in my r53, I switched to the depo/helix projectors which do not have levelers. No levelers in the lights means no need for sensors, right? So, I clipped the wires, tied em up nice and neat and into the dumpster the sensors went. Hooray for weight savings!
Wrong, my DSC light has been on semi-permanently ever since. I even swallowed my pride and forked over the stupid tax to purchase new levelers and wire new plugs. DSC light is still on...I've heard both sides of this story. Some say the levelers are only for the headlights. Others say they are for DSC too. Either way, I have a persistent DSC error that did not exist prior to disconnecting these sensors.
I'm curious, did you ever get a DSC light? Did you hook these levelers back up? What pin-out did you use? Any ideas on "resetting" the DSC system?
