Some bastard has done the sump plug up crazy tight on my R53! It was slightly roudned before I got at it. The 13mm socket wouldn't hold and neither would a spanner.
Even my stud extractor failed.

I then cut a slot in the end of the bolt head and tried a cornless impact driver (65lbs.-ft.) and it only shattered my screwdriver bit. I tried a manual impact driver but got nowhere.
I gave up and went for a top-down oil change. Conviniently I already own a vacuum pump so I only needed to create some kind of collector and tubes.
It's interesting to see the bubbling oil in the jar. I guess that is absorbed water that wants to evaporate under the massive vacuum.
After extraction I managed to put 4.2Ltr back in. Apparently it takes 4.8Ltr, is that right? It's a 2005 Cooper S manual.
On another note, how far do you push the dip-stick down to get a correct reading? Does it go all the way in to the tube up to the plastic stopper or do you stop at the first seal ring?
Hmm, I read on the Mini2 forum from two differnt posters the capacity is 4.8Ltr but on Mini Mania it says 4.3Ltr. If Mini Mania is right then I havn't done bad getting 4.2Ltr back in it!
