Time trial R53's
Time trial R53's
anyone TT'ing an R53? NASA has some events near by I would like to start doing.
I've not looked at the "points" and classing on an r53 and I have a bone stock 2005 R53, so anything to avoid? I wanted to do a big valve build, your basic 250hp R53 but if I'm doing time trials I'm not sure if that hurts or puts me in a run group with some high HP vipers and vets
I'm not really that interested in the competitive side of it, I have autocross for that, but I do want to get some Adrenalin fixes in

I think I will stx prep my 2005 and run NASA hpde up to #4 and then either go spec e e30 or time trial the r53
The spec e30 class is huge here in southeast by far biggest

SpecE30 (Pro3 out west), Spec Miata, and Spec 46 are huge.
The difference between any Spec class and Time Trials: Most spec classes do not allow you do mod engines, and many people consider them "slow".
I glanced at Time Trial stuff since I moved to the SE this past winter, but it doesn't seem like real racing to me. More so I don't understand how points and classing works for NASA, since NASA is non-existent in the PNW.

I've been looking at the SCCA Time Trials lately. Mostly I've been focusing on my Flagging and Communications License for SCCA last year.
Thinking of doing DSP crossover from Solo to SCCA Time Trials. Just have to figure out what roll bar can be installed and still keep the rear seats.

what's wrong with autopower?
If you were to buy a bender, the RF with 1.75 x 6.00CRL would do the job wouldn't it?
I sitll have not decided if I wanna put a cage in my car, I keep hearing "dont cage a car you drive to the track" but I've driven jeeps my whole adult life with a factory roll hoop inches from my head with basically no padding
I'm beginning to think a caged car with pads is safer on the street than an uncaged car, not sure I could leave the side/head airbags in place but at least the front are still there

The Auto-power had fitment issues way back in the day when I started with Honda.
I also don't like the bolt together part of it. Doing it myself, I can get a better fitment myself really.
For somebody that doesn't have my skills, and autopower might be a great option.
