Let's talk headlight leveling sensors...
Anyone have any experience with the headlight leveling sensors on the r50/53?
My car had the non-projector oem xenons with washers and levelers, but I smashed one of the headlights in a fender bender. Check out the rebuild here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...taled-r53.html
After much swaying back and forth, I've since replaced the headlights with the depo/helix non-leveling type. Turns out the arm on my front leveling sensor was broken anyway, so I'm tempted to just remove the sensors, rather than leave them hooked up for no reason. Anyone know if they integrate with DSC and/or ABS? Will they throw codes if disconnected?
Similarly, the new lights don't have washers. Was just going to pull the associated fuse. Will this send codes? What do folks do with the 'extra' washer tank on the driver side?
Just think of the HP boost I'll gain on the butt-dyno from the weight savings!

Guess not...
Well, either that means no ones tried to remove these, or it was a silly question to begin with...lucky for me I don't mind forging into the unknown like a blindfolded gorilla...
I removed them, and started the car. Nothing noticeably different on the first go. Pat my self on the back for being master of the universe. Started it today, dash lit up like a Christmas tree. DSC, ABS, check engine, the whole shebang.
Better hook em back up, even if they don't "do" anything. Question is, do I fork over the $50 for a new front sensor since the arm is broken or just hook em up broken? The codes are a bit of a black box of magic to me. How does one go about resetting this situation?

It might be a coincidence and not because the leveling sensors are disconnected. If reconnecting doesn't fix it, do a search for light trifecta threads and also check your crank pulley to make sure it's not coming apart.
