Underneath the car there is a brace that straddles the exhaust tunnel in the middle of the car. My problem is the my exhaust is vibrating against it. Is this a structural piece? Or can I take this off. I've heard of guys putting washers between it and the body to give a little more clearance.

 

Just take it off. Not Structural. Been driving without mine a while now.

 

Are you talking about this piece below? If so, that is the reinforcement plate. Our R56 exhaust sits pretty far above it. I'd be curious as to the condition of your exhaust hangers possibly.

 

yeah it's that piece. I'm running the CNT cat back.

 

Flip it upside down maybe get a half inch clearance lol.
But yes check out the hangers they might be worn.

 

It's only a '13. Factory exhaust was fine. The CNT seems to just sit lower.

 

CNT, ERZ, OBX. All the same stuff. I suspect this, strongly, because of the similarities their websites share.

I called ERZ, who I ordered a CNT downpipe from, and the guy told me their stuff is "hit or miss mass manufactured Chinese stuff"

My downpipe was a resounding "miss"
