R56 Sunroof shade - fabric recommendation needed
Sunroof shade - fabric recommendation needed
I want to replace the 'net' of he sunshade with similar fabric that blocks the sun (not 'net').
I found it difficult to find such fabric.
I noticed that the BMW X1 has such fabric for its panoramic sunroof (although I'm not sure it blocks the sun by 100%).
The options I found was Sunbrella canvas style and vinyls but neither looks like an 'OEM fabric' (i.e. luxurious enough).
I hope someone can help to find such a fabric (preferably white/off-white).

I have Zippee-Shade which is better for me than the tint (which makes the sunroof 'unusable' closed).
Roller shades sounds a good idea though the problem is finding something with 'luxury' feel.

This is just my opinion understand, but If I had the option of doing that right now I would personally do a Suede/Alcantara fabric. I think that would look really cool, but problem is you'll have two different fabrics up top. So you will have to change out the headliner too. Now I've never seen anybody do that on a MINI yet, but you could be the first to tell us how the fabric goes! Hahaha Good luck!

I won't change the whole headliner but I'm considering your suggestion for suede/Alcantara option.
I like the two color option, i.e. the sun shade would have a different color, matching ('same family') or black.
