Saikou Michi Dual Catch Can Placement

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there using Saikou Michi's dual catch can with a stock intake on an R56S. The only image I can find of one installed has it located right where the stock airbox should go, right next to an aftermarket cone filter.

Is there any room in the stock engine bay for this catch can?

I've researched the whole catch-can argument a lot and, after just having walnut-blasted my intake valves for the first time in 90k miles, I want to go with a dual-can setup. But, I don't have any desire to add an aftermarket intake just to accommodate it.

Hopefully some of you have some experience with this and can help enlighten me.

Here's a link to a pic in my garage.

It's an '07MCS with the dual Saiku Michi in the upper right corner. Yes, it's an aftermarket air box

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, mine is an '08 and the intake piping looks a little different than yours. But I prefer the location that you chose to mount yours, rather than directly above the intake as I have seen on other setups.

I'll have to look and see if I can find some space there in my engine bay to seat one.

How do you like the dual-can setup?

It looks different because of the bigger turbo, matched size air duct, custom PCV and blow-off valve plumbing. However, my K & N filter uses the OEM airbox mount --- the "footprint" should be the same as OEM, leaving adequate space in the corner.

My dual OCC is a couple years old. Hopefully, they now include fittings / couplings to connect it to the passenger-side PCV port --- that hose is "difficult" to tap into. No problems with the driver side port.

When / if you order one, be sure to look into the drain fittings (sold separately). Mine are mounted under the transmission for easy access --- OK, I gotta crawl under the car to drain it, but not very often. Any other draining process is much more difficult.

For a variety of reasons, I'm having a lot of grief with my PCV system --- mostly all my own fault. I'm pretty sure I need at least two OCC's, that's why the dual --- less space req'd. Is it working properly? I won't know 'til I pull the manifold and check for crud build-up on the valves. Also, my WMI system helps with valve cleaning. Am I happy with the OCC --- most definitely!
