I recently picked up a 2005 Mini Cooper S, it is a lot of fun but I am hearing some strange noises

-there is a loud whining coming from the drivers side under the hood - whats up with that! it's not always pronounced but when I am driving hard it gets louder with the engine speed

-there's a bubbling or gurgling sound coming from the exhaust, frequently loudest when I lift the throttle. What's up with that?

Aside from the wierd noises this is a way cool car!!

That "bubbling and Gurgling your hearing is perfectly normal Mini programmed 2005 and 06 models to make that sound reminiscent of old vintage British cars from the 60's ....Its more of a Pop and Burble
