I was looking at pictures of later MINI's and I noticed that the rear bumper cover screws have buffers on them. I quick search on one of the OEM MINI parts sites revels that this change happened is 7/2004.
Does anyone know why they switched to a second set of buffers? My rear hatch has a rattle that shows up when driving slow on rough roads. I did the striker update which got rid of a lot of noise. The upper buffers are adjusted correctly.
Can these be retrofitted to earlier cars?
I'd like to buy them, but I've noticed they are pretty spendy for what they are at $20 and change a piece. I might have to find someone parting out a car as $50 after shipping is a pretty big gamble.
I'm not one to think they should cost a dollar, but I still can't wrap my head around why MINI wants so much money for them considering the upper ones are like $10 and change.
