How accurate are the BMW VIN Lookups
Hey all I just recently picked up a really nice low miles 06 JCW. I looked up the VIN to see what options exactly are on the car. It came back with mine having heated seats and apparently it doesn't. Anyone else ran into things stating that their cars have options they don't really have?

It would appear that you should have had the heated seats. Mine ('05MCS) has the same option code and does in fact have the heated seats. By the way, your car is fantastically optioned! My favorite color combo (other than PH/B) and every good option box minus the H/K system was checked.
On a related note, when I ran my VIN it said the car came with white bonnet stripes, but my car does not have any and there is no ghosting in the paint to indicate they were there. However, it is not unlikely that someone early in the car's life decided to take them off, or even have the dealer do it from day one.
I believe I even heard from somewhere that all seats have the heating elements in them, it's just a matter of having the wiring for it and the control panel.

that's cool - I pasted in the vin and it linked to the vin decoder here once I saved the post!
but it doesn't match the dealer description, like display size, adaptive shocks, etc. so I'm not sure which one is true...
