I just got my MCS last week and planning to get snow tires (now I am using the 17" performance run-flat tires). But I have a question, as I use another set of wheels for winter, does it matter if I just put 16" steel wheels and winter tires on my Mini? or do I have to put run-flat winter tires for the winter too?

Shouldn't matter, just make sure the overall diameter is the same so your speedometer doesn't go off, and carry some fix-a-flat just in case, since you don't have a spare.
