R56 - Removing the Intake VANOS Solenoid.

What's the procedure for removing the Intake VANOS solenoid from a R56 Cooper S, N18 engine ?
I removed the airbox, but I don't seem to be able to find the Torx bolt that holds it in. What's the best method of attack.

TIA
Andrew

You only can feel in with your finger, it's on the driver side almost directly inline with the first intake runner.

The procedure is:

Disconnect the plug
Remove the bolt
Remove the solenoid

If it is hard to remove then try rotating the valves in the cylinder head it may make it easier.

Thanks ... I'll give it another go finding the bolt. There seems to be a plastic wiring chase in front of where I would expect the bolt to be. Maybe it's time to dig the mirror out and see if that'll help.

Yes it is right below that plastic chase.
