R56 To NM RS-Alpha or H&R sport spring
To NM RS-Alpha or H&R sport spring
Can you tell me pros and cons for each? NM has a rear 1" and front 1.2" drop, and H&R has a 1.4" all around. But what about the ride quality? Handling? Brand quality?
I switched to NM springs at 1100 miles or so on my 2012 MCS; about 68,000 miles ago. There have been no quality issues, and the drop was just as advertised, and just what I wanted.
I drive mostly freeway here, roads in good shape, and the ride is "just fine", especially after changing to non-RFTs. That first 1" or so of deflection feels about normal (or the same as I with my factory Sport Suspension springs), after that you can tell that the NMs are more firm.
As with any lowering, use caution on steep driveways and speedbumps.
With more than just me in the car, I do get some bump stop contact while driving briskly on uneven secondary roads (so I just slow down). And, I couldn't drive up my RaceRamps anymore for oil changes.
Hope this helps. I can't compare them directly to anything else...I went from factory Sport Suspension to these NMs and was satisfied.
