Help!

I drove over a curb on the right side of my car. Directly under the right, front corner near the tire hub, I scraped the undrerside plastic trim. Is this something that I can replace? Do they sell this part? I don't want to have to drive 200 miles round trip to my dealer if I don't have to.

This doesn't affect the performance of my car but it bugs me that this plastic piece is all bent. Thanks!

Sure, you should be able to. Call or e-mail Classic MINI (NAM Sponsor) to see if they can hook you up with the replacement part and Fedex it to your home.

You don't say how fast were you going, but I would also be concerned with the suspension aligment. Pay attention to the way the car tracks (Specially at highway speeds) and keep your ears open to unsual noises or vibrations that may be coming from that area.

have the vehicle checked by a reputable tire shop, just to be on the safe side.

Dice-gal,

Sorry to hear about this. Hidden damage is always a potential problem and certainly one to look for. The plastic damage is easy to see but the mounting brackets or metal of the fender might also be bent.

If you take a digital picture of the damage and can post it that might help us figure out what parts need to be ordered. If you order them through NAM sponsor Classic Auto Campus then you get a discount and it can be delivered to your shop or your home. The plastic pieces are light but some are bulky.

If you know someone who is handy you might be able to do the replacement yourself but you need to also ask about the fasteners-can they be reused or do you need new ones- Ask classic.

Curbs are not your friends. I steer clear of them and those concrete stops at the front of each parking stall.
