I'm looking for a spare tire for my 2003 MCS. I'm considering going on some road trips and would like the peace of mind of having a backup tire in the event of a flat in a deserted place.

I bought a new donut spare from Waymotorworks last year after being stranded in the middle of nowhere in 103 degree heat with a rather at the time unhappy spouse. Roadside assistance was a four wait and that was no bueno. I was soley relying on flat protection from a tire sealant and plug kit. However in this remote case the valve stem failed and the sealant held enough to limp to a repair station with numerous stops to reinflate the tire. I then immediately shopped online for new spare (not used or off a Honda or the like from a scrap yard)specifically for the R53 and found Way to be the best value. It's the best MINI accessory one can have for the peace of mind when running on non runflats. Figured it's easier to change a flat in a rain storm at night than trying to repair it with a plug kit. Only have to use it once to recover the purchase price. FWIW. Good luck.
