R56 just got a Mini Beigeman
just got a Mini Beigeman
Hi Gen2 Mini friends, I just bought a Mini beigeman.. Lol, ok, well I see the commercial on TV and thats my car. IDK why they say they dont make one....
I was forced to trade in my 2004 Chili Red Mini It was sad to see the little car go. We had been through a lot together over the last 3 years. I had put 2 power steering pumps in it and a radiator and water pump and a couple of sets of brakes, so I had a lot of good times with it. It was automatic and it used to be my wifes car, she gave it to me when she got a new clubman last year. It was such a great car. The only problem was that it seemed that every time that check engine light goes on, $1000 comes out of my pocket, so I figured it was time for a change.
Enter, a used 2008 Mini Beigeman... Well I guess NOT a beigeman, but a nice little Pepper White Mini. It is non-turbo, 6 speed with 90k miles on it. It looked in pretty nice condition and sounded good. But the reason I bought white was because I wanted to do some funky '70s'ish decals for it. The only thing I really found wrong with it was the sunroof shade was all screwed up and detached from the side.
Anyways, I just wanted to check in, Ill post the '70s tranformation as I go. I am a huge fan of 70s-80s arcade games so it will be dedicated to Atari. Im taking inspiration for the design from the Hot Wheels Pong car if anyone has seen it. I chose that becase I think the 3-color stripe will look good with the white paint as it does on the pong car and Atari's founder (Nolan Bushnell) invented pong so it should all tie in well together.
