Upgrading to JCW boost sensors? Worth it?
I have had an RMW tune on my 09 MCS for some time now and I am experiencing the P2885 code and have been for some time. One thing I was considering it replacing the pressure/temp sensor and intake MAP sensor.
I was wondering if there is actually any difference between the JCW sensors and straight MCS sensors. Part numbers are different but not sure about the hardware.
The reason I am thinking about getting the JCW sensors is due to the boost I am running with the RMW tune ~20-21psi and figured the JCW parts would be capable of working in that range.
Also wondering if replacing the sensors will affect my tune.
I would appreciate any help anyone may have.

I too throw the P2885 and sometimes P2884, usually because I get lazy and don't downshift when getting on it. With my big turbo, I need to be over 3.5K RPM when the pedal gets close to the metal.
As for the sensors. my '07MCS was tuned for 20PSI, and when I match the RPM's to pedal pressure, no codes. I can't comment on physical or electrical differences between JCW & MCS sensors, but from my experience, the MCS version should function fine up to the ECU limit of 22PSI. Others have noted "boost spike" --- momentary surge slightly over 22PSI, that will cause a code and limp mode. Setting boost to 21 max usually prevents the spike.
I've read where the JCW MAP sensors are not interchangeable with MCS versions, but forget why. Also read where JCW's get up to 30PSI boost without using a "limiter" like I use, so the sensors or the ECU or both must be different.
Another consideration --- I'm at 4500 ft elevation and my boost gauge reads about 3PSI low --- a reading of 20 is actually 23. If you haven't messed with the boost control, Jan's tune should accommodate any variation in elevation.
If nobody else suggests anything useful, you should try asking Jan. Maybe a forum search on "boost spike" or "P2885" will get you some good info. My humble opinion is you have a faulty part. Unfortunately, I'm clueless as to which one, but pretty sure it's not a MAP sensor. Might also try switching back to OEM tune, or asking Jan for a 20PSI max map.
Good luck ---

If you are throwing the code with the car stock then there is something wrong with the engine. Need to take it to a shop and have them diagnosis it as a number of things can throw that code such as vacuum leaks, bad turbo, timing, diverter valve, and so on.
