has anyone removed their factory xenon and installed high power led bulbs and ballasts? if so, what was the wiring process like?

Why? The headlights have projector optics designed for xenon bulbs. If you stick LED bulbs in there, it will be dimmer with worse light pattern.

 

The new led kits are just as bright as hid kits. They have ballasts just like hid kits do.

This bulb has an LED emitter pointing in one direction, and I'm very skeptical that it will perform well in a projector housing that was designed for a xenon bulb with 360º spread. Let us know how it works out.

 

have you looked inside a projector housing? there is a cutoff that will not allow for a full 360 degree beam. this is only one design and not necessarily specific to this install. I have used led kits in projector housings without issue. my question was pointed toward the wiring end of this install since the mini has a thin harness.

Did you ever figure out this wiring? I have a bad housing that's causing a cascade of problems and the cost of replacement is pretty high, so I'm interested in finding a cheaper solution.
