Tire Recommendations - 2004 Mini Cooper S 205 45 17 84V

I am looking for tire recommendations for my 2004 Mini Cooper S 205 45 17 84V. I want good performance but I also need durability. My last Yokohoma Avid Envigor set lasted less than 30,000 miles. I am probably rough on them... so I may have to sacrifice some performance so they last longer. But, I don't want a lot of noise...

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking a tire with a 60k treadwear warranty wearing out in less than 30k may be due to something other than a driver being "probably rough" on them.

If so, here are some possibly relevant questions:
Were the tires rotated?
Is the wear even from side to side across the tread?
Has the alignment been checked in the last 50k or so miles?
How worn is the suspension?
Did you satisfy the conditions of the treadwear warranty?

You might get moderately less performance and similar wear with a Kumho Ecsta PA31 at lower cost ($86 vs. $102 for the Envigor at Tirerack).

Do you need an All Season tire for your cold weather, even if you have winter tires?

If so then for a MCS you want good handling wet or dry with comfort and longer wear so-
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...wws=N&showcm=N

Continental ExtremeContact DWS Ultra High Performance All Season tire
205/45-17 or 215/45-17 both about $122 each, 540 treadwear
Both sizes fit your MCS and wheels, 215/45-17 is a little more comfortable due to taller sidewall.

For mileage and performance equal to the Envigor, I'd consider Pirelli Cinturato all-season plus, 215/45R17. You'll also find it quieter and offers better bad weather traction.
