I'm going on a nice roadtrip next week (Miami to NC) and am looking at purchasing a radar detector. I haven't been on the market since I owned a Fuzzbuster in 1980.
What type of detectors are people using and what should I be looking for? Specific brand names are allowable and encouraged, please.

At one time I owned 3 Passport7500's from the days... I still have 2 for
my mcs and wrx; sold one to my boss. So far, they have done the trick for
me. I don't use one on my commuter though...no rush to get to work.
