Tell me about Megan EZ Street Racing Coilovers

Where are they made? Are they made in China??

How far will it lower the car?

Is the ride hard or soft, can it be adjusted to be lowered with a stiffer drive and higher with a softer drive?

Has anyone else used them?

Is this a good choice for street driving and weekend Victoria Australia twisty roads?

Also, how do they compare to stock sport suspension?

Good question!

Also, how do coilovers compare with a sport suspension and lowering springs?

Not to be rude, but just do some digging.... For instance, try their website. Made in Taiwan.

http://www.meganracingperformance.co...-p-537297.html

There's also literally dozens of threads on this very site regarding these coilovers.

They are cheap. They will perform like cheap coilovers. Some people like them, but that is only until they use better quality stuff.

Thanks Bigchili, I'm using the search function alot more now and asking less questions!

Searching does work!

I'm actually thinking of going with KONI FSD's and Bilstein or M7 Springs for a set and forget setup.

Thanks everyone for answering my posts, I'll search first and ask questions later! :D

People have no problem helping, but sometimes it's just easier / faster for you to search. Have fun.

Thanks Bigchill, I've been looking for EZ Streets everywhere and they seem to be sold out all over the place....well at least the major outlets like Outmotoring and we have a local Aussie dealer who can get Megan coilovers and he can't find any so I've decided to go with Koni Yellows and M7 springs. It should still have a nice drop and handle well on the road or at least be adjustable.

Koni Yellows are one billion times better than Megan coilovers. You'll be fine.

is there a particular reason you want coilovers vs a spring/strut setup?

BC makes Megan, and they are of slightly higher quality, and because of that are slightly higher priced. For the money though, I'd still buy something else.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Koni set-up.

Had mine on for about 2500 miles.
The damping is set right in the middle, and in my opinion is the best way to go.
The ride quality is much better than stock along with superb handling increase.
The fronts seem to be able to be adjusted lower than the back.
Mine are maxed out in the rear and more adjustability in the front.
No complaints so far.

That's gorgeous man! I love the stance, higher in the back. It's the bulldog look!

I've done just under 1000 miles and am very pleased with the way the car behaves. Right now I have them set at roughly stock height maybe a touch lower and dampening in the middle. Wish I could go lower but I don't think the roads by me will make for a comfortable ride. Hoping to get it dialed in this week at some point. I don't think you can go wrong for the money with these.

I installed the EZ Streets about a year and a half ago. Rides better than stock on my relatively soft setting, and handles better. Have not had any issues. Definitely recommend them! Will probably do my first autocross event in April and will put it on a stiffer setting for that. They can be adjusted for height and stiffness.

Early Megan coilovers I heard a lot of bad things about. Even my mechanic warned me against them because he had bad experiences with the old ones on Minis. Whatever they changed, they seem to be a much higher quality product now. My mechanic was surprised when he installed them and had no complaints. Also another great feature is they have reinforcement plates to prevent mushrooming -- If you don't already have strut tower defenders, this is a must.

TheBigChill, you may be thinking of the older models, but the newer models are pretty good quality products. Great upgrade from stock.

I can't speak to the quality of the Koni yellows, I hear they are good. But koni yellows + lowering springs puts you already probably over the price of the Megans, and that is not adjustible for height or stiffness. The Megans are pretty good quality, and throw in re-inforcement plates on top of everything. Great bargain, if you ask me.
